The huge 500ltrs Grande Worm Habitat is great for schools, restaurants, offices, caravan parks & sporting clubs. Grendes can be linked for watering and liquid collection.
In Australia, in excess of 13million tons of organic waste per year is land filled resulting in greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental problems. The Worm Habitat Grande represents a significant advancement in the field of organic waste recycling. Capable of handling larger amounts of waste than most conventional worm farm systems the Grande is suitable for schools, resorts, offices, clubs, horse owners and much more.
Multi-award winning company, Worms Downunder, has supplied hundreds of the Grandes acrossAustralia and has an extremely high rate of customer . The Grande features a host of innovative features including a built in watering system, tie down lid, over-flow device, ventilated body and lid, and access panel for quick and easy harvesting of castings.
A Grande can typically house up to 10kg of worms giving it the ability to turn in excess of 70kg of food/paper waste a week into nutrient rich liquid and solid plant conditioner. For larger amounts of waste a series of Grande units can be ‘daisy-chained’ together with up to 8 units able to be watered off a single tap point.
Processing waste with a series of Grande units is straight-forward and requires only a small amount of time weekly to maintain a healthy effective system. Worms Downunder also provides FREE ongoing support via email and telephone for all its products for the lifetime of the product. The Experts are only a phone call away! satisfaction patented and design registered The Grande operates silently, does not produce any odours and is vermin proof.
The future of Organic Waste Management has arrived and its Grande!

CASE STUDIES
RESORTS
The has established Worm Habitat Grandes
alongside its championship golf course to process the organic waste produced
by the resort’s kitchens, landscaping, golf course and offices. The project has
been so successful that the five star resort is now able to
Hyatt Regency Coolum
process more than
2000kg of waste per week and divert 104 tons from landfill each year. Brett
Braithwaite, the Hyatt’s Green Team Leader, says that the project does more
than reduce the resort’s environmental impact, “it reduces the costs of fertilizer
and waste pickup too, saving us $50,000 a year!”
SCHOOLS
Eumundi State School teacher John Gemmel has been so impressed
with their bank ofWorm Habitat Grandes he and his year five class have
taken the concept to the Australian ‘Kids-teaching-kids’ 2010
conference. The helped establish four Grandes at
the school to deal with waste, provide a learning resource and produce
nutrient rich products for the school’s kitchen garden. These were so
successful, that another four Grandes were added which now deal with
both market and schoolwaste.

where we have located the Grandes,” he said.“We are looking at getting
around 100 litres of worm liquid out of the system to use as nutrient
fertiliser on our lawns, and get away from using chemicals.Wewould like
to also supply the worm juice to other areas for their turf, because it
enhances soil and brings it back to its true health.”
